Three State’s Wolf Management Plans
February 22, 2008
While the topic is a hot one and I’ve had at least one reader ask for me to publish the wolf management plans for Idaho, Montana and Wyoming, I thought I’d give it a shot - at least provide you with links where you can get the information.
This link (pdf) is the U.S. Fish and Wildlife final rule document for delisting of the gray wolf. This was made public yesterday.
Idaho
This link will give you some background and information about Idaho’s plans to manage the gray wolf once it is delisted.
This link provides access to numerous U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service documents concerning wolf management.
This link (pdf) is a copy of the Memorandum of Agreement between the Department of Interior and the State of Idaho, to manage wolves.
Montana
This link gives you links to the process Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks took to arrive at a USFWS approved wolf management plan. There you will find a copy of the wolf plan.
Wyoming
As most of you know, Wyoming had a lot of difficulty getting an approved wolf management plan through the USFWS. Wyoming wasn’t as agreeable to the standards that USFWS wanted them to set up. This entire effort nearly came down to a court’s decision but finally, Wyoming worked out a wolf management plan that was agreeable to USFWS.
This link (pdf), to the best of my knowledge, is the final draft of the Wyoming Wolf Management Plan approved by USFWS.
For those with the interest, this link (pdf) is a copy of the letter to Wyoming from the Department of Interior approving the Wyoming Wolf Management Plan.
Tom Remington

After a little internet searching, reading, and checking up on this stuff I found it’s a pretty well established product in Canada and hails from Quebec where they have this funny habit of speaking a lot of French. Thus the name, Jig-A-Loo, and the company’s claim it derives from a saying they have up north, “I’ve got it!”
